Ma Ying-jeou,former Mayor, now the new president

I was waked up by a sms from Taiwan this morning: good news!
It’s done. They have a new Président, from the blue camp of KMT, a former student from the University of Havard.
When he was still the mayor of Taiwan, two years ago, I’ve got an exclusive interview with him in Paris, where he made [...]

Mnunicipal election in France

Just came back from the celebration party in the City Hall which still named Delanoë.
Less interest of voting: in every 3 French, there is one who didn’t vote;
Less interest of promotion: the candidate of UMP, Mme Françoise de Panafieu even cancelled the interview one day before our appointment last week;
Less difference of the percentage: 2% [...]

Shimon PERES’ visit

Five days, Paris-Lyon-Paris, with a fully booked schedule.
I chose to follow him the first and the last day.
Last time when I said hello to him at the gate of a grand hotel in Paris, he was still the Prime Minister, this time, the President of the country, which I heard already several times in my [...]

Clinton cries again

Before because he does not live in France, where we could have a president with secret daughter, a preident even his wife does not know where to find him, and a president got divorce and married within 4months.
Those are all respectable private lives. We could never loose the job of president because of the private [...]

Friday New Year receptions in two palaces

I went to the New Year greetings to the press from the Mayor of Paris in the morning. The palace of the City Hall of Paris is always my preference, even comparing with the Elysée.
Bertrand Delanoë presented us his scores on the employment and lodgement, two month ahead from the election by giving his wish [...]

the Giscard d’Estaings

A little bit tired of all kinds of New Year’s greetings to the journalists, finally become always press conferences. I decided to change a little bit today by spending half of my day in the “Assemblée Nationale”.
Something interesting today:
10h Press conference of Deputy Louis Giscard d’Estaing
11h Audition of Valéry Giscard d’Estaing
I do [...]

« New Year’s Greetings » in a museum

Busy with all kinds of « New Year’s Greetings » these two weeks. The one from the Prime Minister is today, instead of in Matignon as usual; we’ve got a surprise of being invited to the City of Architecture and the Patrimony.
It is a very good idea I have to say.
In the office we give [...]

Sarko superstar

Chatting with a French friend tonight about end-of-the-year typical programs, I told him that if I had to make that type of program, about the 5 most important news of the year, this year it would be extremely easy :
1. Sarkozy being elected
2. Sarkozy divorcing
3. Sarkozy said to be dating with someone famous in French [...]

The tent in Paris

We ‘ve seen very few official visits of a leader that could make France in
such a debate. Critics come from the left, the middle party, and even
inside the government.
Khadafi in Paris for 5 days. The police security posts even arrives at
Concorde, to where his tent was set up in the garden of the Marigny Hotel.
Wednesday [...]
